Correction! Leyden Glen Lamb at AFM Tomorrow
Hello Lamb Friends:
Good news! It turns out that Leyden Glen Farm will be at the Amherst Farmers Market tomorrow morning. Just wanted to get this out to you, in case you are in the need of some lamb for your weekend.
The Market has been a bit of a washout every single week but one since it began in mid-April. In my old job, we used to have a favorite saying, when we were packing trade show booths, helping ship orders in the fall when we were seriously busy, winding yarn samples for rep presentations, gluing photos onto presentation boards, knitting swatches for designs….. It was “The Glamour Never Stops.” I often think of my old co-workers and the hard work, strategizing, doing anything to help our little company grow and thrive. Those co-workers have been my friends for over 40 years now and we still keep in touch and meet up when we can.
My fellow vendors at the Amherst Farmers Market haven’t taken those friends place by any means but I do really love the camaraderie that comes from doing a weekly farmers market. Every week, I catch up with what has happened on their farms. We trade mishaps and stories. This season, we’ve had more time to chat considering the abundance of rain which tends to keep customers away. Every once in a while, I’ll drop that favorite phrase - “The Glamour Never Stops” - when we all are setting up in the rain or dodging rain drops while packing up. The AFM vendors and staff are wonderful, hard working folks who are passionate about their food, farms, businesses and communities. There are several new vendors that are bringing new energy to the market so stop on by if you are looking for something to do Saturday.
Today and for the next couple days is the important Muslim holiday of Eid Al Adha. We wish all our Muslim friends a happy holiday. If you would like to learn more about the traditional recipes featuring lamb during Eid, this article is interesting. I love to learn about food and recipes from different cultures throughout the world.
Wishing you all a good weekend.
