Hello Lamb Friends:
A quick one tonight. Here’s a new video of Annie working the sheep. I think you will notice some progress since the last video.
Mark hasn’t had much time to work with her but she seems to be figuring it out on her own.
It looks like there may be spotty showers tomorrow for the Amherst Farmers Market but nothing like the deluges of the last two weeks. Thanks to all of you who came out braving the rain. We vendors really appreciate it. It’s a bit depressing standing there all day getting wet and waiting to go home! But as you all know - “The Glamour Never Stops” in the world of farming. Come on out tomorrow and pick up some lamb, spring veggies, strawberries, baked goods and more. The market is really coming into its own.
In Farm Building Project News, we took delivery of two big piles of our new greenhouse. The metal tubes came and some parts for assembly. Still waiting on the poly covering and breathable fabric sides. Construction is supposed to begin in July. Very exciting.
I’m not sure if I ever mentioned the documentary series from the UK - Clarkson’s Farm in this newsletter. I have really enjoyed it and just finished watching the 4th season. You can find it on Amazon Prime. It is quite entertaining and full of great characters. The series documents Jeremy Clarkson as he attempts to run his 1,000-acre farm which in the past was run by a real farmer, not a TV presenter. Check it out. It looks like they are in the midst of filming Season 5. I understand that it has really opened the UK public’s eyes to how difficult it is to farm and grow food. It is heart warming and funny at the same time.
Hope to see you tomorrow. Have a good weekend.
Your shepherds,
Kristin and Mark
